I've also appreciated t5time to sew small things. And since I enjoyed creating 5" finished blocks, I had another go at monkey wrench blocks.
It is made up of all kinds of bits and pieces of my scraps, so another win. And I knew i had some backing left from a doona cover a friend gave me from Ikea. It's so cute. But I also knew it wouldn't be quite enough. So I framed the centre and voila, a backing.
Its very exciting, our first grandchild. And who knows, he may be born here and we'll get to see and hold him, rather than waiting a couple of months to do that.
I have been working on several things (other people chasing squirrels, or various distractions?) And need to finish at least 3 in the near future.
Until next time,
I love the quilt, especially that backing fabric with the cute animals. How fun that it will now go to your new grandson - congratulations! What a story that quilt will have to tell for years to come, and I'm sure it will be well loved.ReplyDelete
Read all your recent posts, Lynn, and enjoyed them very much. What a quilter you are! I love the monkey wrench pattern very much. I can see myself hand stitching such a block. You do have an eye for matching fabrics and colours with lovely results. Happy Stitching!ReplyDelete
I love your quilt and how you elongated the backing. I need to remember that!ReplyDelete
